I chose it for the pattern on the outside, but my elderly parents apparently did not care for the pattern inside (ha). The size and weight are perfect. I think the big dot at the bottom of the bowl is just a bit much for them once the rice is gone. Otherwise, the packaging was careful and I am satisfied.
